Yesterday was my 39th birthday. Time flies. I wish I had more time.
I love life, but I greatly dislike getting older. I need glasses for the first time in my life, last year I had a few health problems. My kids are getting older, which is good, but I wish they were still little too.
Time is whooshing by. Ugh, I’m always chasing it.
A few years ago, after realizing I was caught up in the day to day of work, eat, sleep, repeat, I decided to create a list of things that I want to do, but never make time for. A bucket list, if you will, only this list was made up of things I want to do now.
Here are a few of my items below with my progress since.
- Go to more art museums-I went to about three shows since I made the list, but I still would like to take a day to just sit and admire some artwork at my leisure. Maybe with a glass of wine.
- Learn to play the guitar-I went online and learned how to play enough chords to play a few songs. Once I learn something, I pretty much never forget it. My daughter bought me a lesson for Christmas, and I realized teaching myself I developed really bad habits. Still, I did it, just for me. Now I an only get better.
- Write a book-Well, I’ve written four and so far published two. I think that is not too shabby. I actually exceeded this goal and found a new passion.
- Travel more-This, I’m afraid, I have not done. I’m a wannabe world traveler at heart and it has been way too long since my passport has seen any action.
Ah well, the point is to make the list and actually get out there and live life. Do the things you dream of. Don’t wait until you have enough money, or you’re retired. Do them now. The sky’s the limit.
What’s on your list?
